Center for Detention Studies (CDS) has always been actively participating in improving and completing the implementation of the correctional system. Our advocacy is based on research and monitoring which always be done scientifically involving stakeholders. We took this step so that the correctional system is always consistent and responsible in organizing the correctional system by putting prisoners’ needs in the first place.
In the 2012-2019 period, CDS has focused on restorative justice, counter-violence extremist (CVE), fulfillment of the rights of vulnerable groups (women, children, people with disabilities, and elderly), and public services issues. Moreover, CDS has also actively involved in regulation drafting related to the correctional system.
